Verifact is one of Australia’s largest national investigation firms, with business operations in every state and territory. We are actively seeking a highly motivated person for a newly created position to join our head office finance team as the business continues to rapidly grow.
You will provide leadership and technical assistance to the established national finance team in order to facilitate the efficient and effective operation of the department. You will be a pivotal part of the organisations significant growth and financial success by being involved in all accounting functions. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
This is a hands on role which will see you develop your skills in financial and management accounting. Responsibilities of this role will include:
- Preparation of financial and management reports and Board Papers
- Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and variance analysis
- Management of AR and AP with the finance team
- Preparation of BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax returns
- Manage and assist with payroll processing and compliance
- Cash flow Management
- General Ledger maintenance reconciliations
- Carry out internal audit programs
- Liaising with state office staff on financial matters
- Financial Analysis for various business units and for growth opportunities
Experience required:
- 3 – 5 years as an assistant or financial accountant, responsible for the recording of company financial data and the preparation of periodic management reports
- in preparing and lodging the indirect taxation returns of a company
- in recording and analysing transactional data
- Graduate Qualifications in Accounting or commensurate working experience

- advanced Microsoft Excel skills for collate, record, analysing and present financial data
- intermediate Microsoft Word skills for the preparation and presentation of reports and correspondence
