He played professional rugby with the Wallabies from 1989 to 1999 and, in 2005, was named by a panel of rugby journalists and commentators as part of the "Wallabies Team of the Decade".
Dan gained his initial investigative experience working as an undercover detective with the Queensland Police, much of which coincided with his professional rugby career.
He launched his own investigation business in 2001, building a team of specialists who could provide a complete service. "To be a good investigator you have to have specific product knowledge. You have to know the intricacies of different disciplines. Investigating a workers' compensation claim is very different from investigating insurance fraud. Our clients get professionals who are trained in the type of investigation they require."
Taking a holistic approach is important. "Risk management is a vital part of any business. Our experience in all areas of investigation and business management enables us to offer clients a thorough risk assessment and recommend solutions for security, occupational health & safety and other workplace practices."
Dan has 20 years' industry experience and recognises one of the most common and costly problems for businesses is finding a single expert supplier to consult on internal reporting requirements and risk management. "You might have someone who makes widgets and they start a business. They are great at making widgets, but they don't have the knowledge to manage the security and safety of other aspects of business to protect their product. That's where Verifact can help."
