Jock came to Verifact after more than 16 years in the Workers Compensation environment. Jock joined the Workers Compensation Board of Queensland which later became WorkCover Queensland in 1987. He commenced as an Administrative Officer and later gained experience in the Insurance Contracts field and Claims Administration. Jock then became part of the Field Officers Section where he was required to conduct investigations on behalf of WorkCover for both Insurance Contracts and Claims, which meant dealing with Policy Holders, Injured Workers and Employers.
Once leaving WorkCover Jock started his own business as a Commercial Agent once again gaining experience in Debt Management and continuing the experience he gained through WorkCover to conduct investigations on behalf of insurance companies and solicitors.
Jock joined Verifact in late 2004 as a Compliance Officer and has graduated through the ranks with his demonstrated knowledge of Workers Compensation and his ability to manage staff and deal with clients. His ability not only to answer complex matters in Workers Compensation investigations but also his communication skills with both clients and staff has been invaluable to Verifact.
Jock is highly motivated and is currently undertaking external studies in order to increase his knowledge of Workers Compensation.
Outside of work Jock has recently been married and enjoys watching and participating in all kinds of sport, with his greatest loves being Rugby League and Australian Rules Football.
