  Our People - Shane Hogan
Recruiting, training and retaining the best staff is one of Shane Hogan's key goals as a director of Verifact in Western Australia.

He joined the Verifact team in December 2006,
when his companies, Marine & General Insurance
Services (Australia) Pty Ltd and Protocol Security & Investigations WA Pty Ltd, merged with the nationwide company.

Shane says there is great value in offering national service and a uniform approach to investigations.

His focus, like the rest of the Verifact team, is on
high-quality work, achieved through well-managed, planned investigation methodology. Shane spent 12 years in the WA police force. He resigned in 1997, having worked in investigations for much of his police career, including internal investigations, the organised crime squad and the national counter-terrorist negotiators' unit.

When he left the force, Shane joined Marine & General, where he was trained by the then principal, Bruce Beveridge, in all facets of marine surveying and insurance-related investigations. Shane purchased the company when Bruce retired in 2001. He has considerably expanded the business since then.
Shane later opened the Protocol office in WA, which focused on non-insurance and corporate clients and supported the Protocol business headquartered in NSW.

Marine & General is a specialist in marine surveying and insurance-related investigations and brings that expertise into the Verifact brand. It has specialist offices in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.

Shane is a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Investigators and the Australian Institute of Marine Surveyors. He holds current inquiry agent, investigator, security agent and security consultant licences.

Shane's interests include boating and water activities, "the pursuit of good food and wine, and the company of friends".
